The right storage for your Soy Sauce

We often get asked about the shelf life of Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce and how to store the bottle after opening it to preserve the delicious flavour for as long as possible. If you keep some simple rules in mind, you can enjoy your soy sauce for a long time.

The best before date on the bottle’s label or cap tells you how long you can continue to use the sauce for cooking, dipping, marinating, seasoning or enhancing the flavour of your food.

Once you’ve opened the bottle, it's best to store it in the fridge. This ensures that Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce retains its quality for as long as possible. Oxidation, a process that happens as a result of contact with oxygen, turns the sauce darker in colour. Storing the sauce in a low-temperature environment prevents oxidation and allows you to continue to enjoy its full flavour.

Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce will keep for several months. To preserve the flavour we suggest storing the bottle in the fridge after opening. To keep it in peak freshness replace the inner plastic cap after each use.
